Skiing is a highly seasonal sport and unless you prepare your body specifically to take part it can mean you are very vulnerable to new injury.

The most common injuries incurred while skiing are to the knee and they can be quite serious.

A skier for many years, Ian Lenehan knows through his own experience that having correctly fitted boots and bindings is imperative.  Boots provide support and stability for the foot and ankle that can be the difference between sustaining injury or not.  Bindings should release when you fall and every skier will require a different adjustment according to their skiing ability.

A preventative care programme will help get you in shape through muscular strengthening and lengthening programme designed specifically for you and by identifying any misalignment that could increase the risk of a skiing related injury.

If an injury does occur a quick and accurate diagnosis with follow up treatment is imperative for maximising the chances of a full recovery.
